Paris, je t’aime! – 3 Days in Paris XXL

Paris .. I could fall in love over and over again with this city! For those who follow me and my posts for a long time might already know that it is a dream of mine to live there one day. As I have to wait for this dream to – maybe – come true until my Master studies will be over next year, Paris is one of my travel destinations every year.

This time, my sister was the lucky one to spend 3 days in Paris with me. On Monday, our ICE left really early in the morning. Happily, it is only a 3 hour ride from Mannheim to the city of love.

Where We Stayed

As we have already arrived at 10am at the Gare de l’Est, we decided to take the Parisian Underground – called “Metro” – to go straight to the Hotel to leave our luggage there. My sister and I were so happy that we were able to stay at the Four Seasons this time which is situated near the big shopping street “Champs-Elysées on the Avenue George V in the heart of Paris.

Our room was on the 4th floor with a nice view on the inner yard of the hotel, in which you are able to enjoy your breakfast when the sun is shining. The spacious room was very light and nothing was missing – not even a TV while enjoying a bath in the tub.

The Breakfast Buffet

The breakfast menu had everything a heart could wish for. It contained a big choice of bread, cake and French specialities in addition to cheese and sausage. But even my sister and I as vegans had a big choice of cereals, a lot of fresh fruit, dried fruits and they offered soy milk as well.

First things first: after having checked in at the hotel, we decided to search for food. Luckily, “Le Pain Quotidien”, one of my favorite places to eat in Paris was only round the corner. As it was too early to have something for lunch already, we both decided to satisfy our sweet tooth and to order something for brunch or second breakfast. I went for my all-time favorite Acai-Bowl. my sister had a Granola Parfait and we both shared an Avocado-Bread.

The weather was really bad and it started to rain from time to time. However, this was perfect for a little shopping tour to the big shopping centers “Printemps” and “Galleries La Fayette”. My sister made herself a dream come true and bought a crossbody Stella McCartney bag for which she has saved money for a long time. I spontaneously bought myself a Gucci belt which perfectly fits my Gucci bag (you can spot it in the pictures down below).

As the portions from our second breakfast were really small, we got hungry again after 2 hours of walking around in Paris. On our way back to the hotel we therefore decided to go to one of our favorite take-away cafés called “Cojean”, which we have discovered 2 years ago with our mom. It has a great variety of fresh salads, sandwiches and sweets and also offers a great selection of vegan options.

Back at the hotel we quickly changed outfits to have a photoshoot at the Eiffel Tower as the weather got better. Luckily, it was only a 10min walk from the Four Seasons. Before leaving for dinner, I had to make a quick stop at Zara aka my favorite shop. Of course I could not leave it without buying something.

For dinner we had decided to go for some take-away food at Marks&Spencer or Prêt à Manger. However, both haven’t had any vegan choices left. After walking around for nearly one hour, we luckily discovered a Vapanio by accident where we both had a big pizza without cheese and extra veggies on top.

On our second day we slept in until 8am, got ready in the bathroom and had a big breakfast with a lot of fresh fruit, juice and cereal. Satisfied and happy we made our way again to the Eiffel Tower to take more pictures. Unfortunately, the weather hasn’t really got better that day and it was still very cloudy.

Fortunately, it hasn’t been too crowded in the morning and we therefore were really quick with taking pictures. As taking pictures made us hungry again we decided to take the Metro to a little café near the Louvre to have Acai-Bowls and Chia Pudding.

With a belly full of food we then went for an after-lunch walk along the Louvre, through the “Jardin des Tuileries” back to the “Champs-Elysées” where our hotel was located. Tired from walking around all day we just enjoyed a cozy evening in our hotel room watching TV and editing pictures.

Unfortunately, the last day passed by too quickly. As our train left at 5pm at the Gare de l’Est with destination to Mannheim, we decided to make use of all the vegan choices in Paris. For lunch we therefore went to a cute little café near “Le Marais” called “Wild & The Moon”. I had a Nicecream as well as a Matcha Bowl. My sister went for an Acai-Bowl and a Chocolate Pudding. In addition to that we both had a slice of Bananabread and an Iced Chai Latte. I can really recommend this place as it offers a great variety of vegan and gluten free options!

Au Revoir, Paris!

I am currently sitting in the train on my way back home and typing out this blogpost for you as I want it to be online as soon as possible. Paris is and will be one of my favorite travel destinations for sure and I can’t wait to be back soon. Thanks again to the lovely team at the Four Seasons – my sister and I had a really pleasant stay. Hopefully seeing you soon again!
