New York, you have my heart! Photo Locations, Foodspots & Co. #NYFW

New York – a dream came true! New York has been on my travel list for so long and regarding the Fashion Week I was finally able to be there for a few days. The trip has been really spontaneously as we only booked our flights one week ago. However, spontaneous actions are always the best.

On Friday I had to leave really early in the morning to go by train to the airport where I met David who owns a Blogger Agency in Cologne. The 9h flight was really long but I was too excited to sleep at all. As we have already arrived around midday at the airport in New York, we still had half of the day left due to the time difference, However, we were really exhausted so the only thing we could do was making a quick stop in our apartment before going out for dinner in the city.

Our apartment was located in Brooklyn and was sponsored by Wimdu for our stay during Fashion Week. Wimdu is an online platform where you can rent apartments from private persons for your vacation. It was my second time in such an apartment: I already stayed with Wimdu during Berlin Fashion Week.

Luckily, our first day in New York hasn’t been that busy as we only had one show in the evening. That’s why we had enough time to play tourists and to explore the city. As it was my birthday, it was my turn to choose where to go and what to do.

I decided to go to the Rockefeller Center, from which you have a fantastic view all over New York. I couldn’t get over the view and I would have loved to stay there the whole day until sunset. After having taken a lot of photos we made a quick stop to get some lunch before heading to 5th Avenue for some shopping. Of course I couldn’t resist buying something at the Victorias Secret store.

Before heading to our first show from Philip Plein, we made a quick outfit change in our apartment. Kindly, I could choose something from the Philipp Plein Showroom for the show. I went for a jeansjacket with big flower patches – it was love at first sight.

Ready for the show we then made our way back to the city to the Manhattan Center, where already thousands of people were waiting outside of the building to get in. However, 2000 people were still waiting outside even after the show. The reason for that were special guests such as Nicky Minaj and Future who performed during the show.

As we got back to our apartment really late on Saturday night, we decided to have a relaxed breakfast before making our way back to the city. This time we decided to go up on the Empire State Building. The view from the 102 floor was just breathtaking.

As I always check for vegan restaurants and cafés before my trips, I discovered this cute little spot in Soho called Bocaphe. Normally, the restaurant is famous for its pho and noodle soups. However, you can also order breakfast and brunch. As we were in the mood for something sweet we went for Pancakes, Acai Bowl and an Avo-Toast. However, I would have loved to go back on another day to try their lunch or dinner options.

As all the shops are luckily also open on Sundays in the US, we made our way back the to 5th Avenue. There I fell in love with a red bag from Saint Laurent and I couldn’t resist buying it. I was looking for a red bag for so long and as its was my birthday the day before I thought I could treat myself. Maybe you have already spotted my new love in one of my Instagram pictures.

On Monday we had two fashion shows on our schedule. The first show was from Dennis Basso and took place in the ballroom of the Plaza Hotel at the Central Park. The new collection was just amazing – a dream for all women with a lot of glitter, ruffles and lace.

After both shows we made our way to the Brooklyn Bridge, our last destination for the day. As the weather was really nice, the Bridge (and all the other attractions in New York) were really crowded so that it was really difficult to take a picture without anyone else on it.

On the Brooklyn Bridge I also posted a photo on Instagram wearing this red blouse which you really liked! I just wanted to say thank you for all your lovely comments! I will for sure wear the color red more often. The blouse is from Bonprix by the way.

Unfortunately, Tuesday was our last day in New York. As our flight left in the evening, we still had a lot of time to pack our suitcases and to explore the city once again. We decided to go to Soho, as we hadn’t seen much of this part of the city.

Coincidentally. we found my favorite restaurant called “By Chloe” again, where we already had lunch in the past days. The last time I had an Acai Bowl, that’s why I had to go for something savory this time. This place is 100% vegan and I can really recommend it to you! Even David, who isn’t vegan, was surprised how good vegan food can taste.

I can’t wait to be back in New York one day! This city definitely won my heart in just a few days – maybe Gossip Girl should feel a bit guilty. The next Fashion Week is coming soon.
